BIO
A native to Kansas City, Barbara Florez graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute, finishing graduate school at University of WA at Seattle. Following this, she has held positions in art education at the university level and within various museum educational programs. Referring to herself as a cross-media artist, she creates paintings, digital media, and sculptures of clay, and glass. Referencing the human mind/body connection, with science and technology, is also a common theme in some of her artwork. Her most recent work explores color saturation, and the illusion of dimensional space within the digital realm.
